November 27-28, 2009 - Ghent (GOLD, SSCS)
2nd IEEE Benelux GOLD weekend: Double workshop on career development/project management and IC design

Location: Ghent University

Contact: Gold Benelux
This event is divided into sessions where both soft skills and technical skills are threated. Both are focussed on those needed by young professionals. In addition there are plenty of social events and networking opportunities to bring those soft skills into practice.
Speakers:
IEEE R8 (EMEA) region professional activities workshop program co-founder Margaretha Eriksson, who is also a private consultant in Sweden will hold 2 interactive workshops called "Get a flying start" and "10 success factors in Project Management".
Researcher Cédric Mélange (UGent) will talk about Burst-mode IC design for next-generation optical access. A second talk on IC design will be given by Pravesh Kumar (ASML)"
There will be a reception, where we will welcome new graduates of Benelux section as a part of the IEEE STEP program and social activities such as city tour of Ghent.

March 18, 2009, Leuven (SB Leuven/SSCS)
Micro Electronics Symposium.
On Wednesday March 18, 2009 the IEEE Student Branch organizes the already third edition of the Micro Electronics Symposium. The event takes place at the department of electrical engineering of the K.U.Leuven. Everyone can attend this symposium for free, but we ask to register online so we know how many of the handouts we need to provide.

26 August 2008 - Leuven (SSC)
Workshop on Next-Generation Wireless RF Transceivers in Nanometer CMOS Technologies at IMEC

In the high-tech world of solid-state electronics, the Benelux can be very proud of its status. An impressive number of designs and scientific papers is produced by such "small" countries. Especially in the world of analog and RF design, the Benelux has created a reputation that matters.
In this workshop the opportunity is given to find out about the recent achievements on next-generation wireless RF transceivers in the Benelux research centers. These are aimed at RF design in the most advanced CMOS technologies, for low-cost mass consumer markets. New application areas are 4th generation cellular systems, software-defined radios, and very high datarates in the newly available spectrum at 60GHz.

27-29 March 2007 - Oostende (SSC)
AACD 2007, the 16th Workshop on Advances in Analogue Circuit Design

The aim of the workshop is to bring together designers of advanced analogue and RF circuits for the purpose of studying and discussing new possibilities and future developments in this field. Selected topics for AACD 2007 are: Sensors, Actuators and Power Drivers for the Automotive and Industrial Environment, Integrated PA's from Wireline to RF, Very High Frequency Front Ends.

19 March 2007 - Leuven (SSC SB Leuven)
Microelectronics symposium: Power of Budget

The following speakers present at the symposium:
  • Willy Sansen (K.U. Leuven/IEEE): "Will Moore save microelectronics?"
  • Wim Dehaene (K.U.Leuven): "The next generation in RFID"
  • AMI Semiconductors (AMIS): "Smart Power: The shift from analog to digital control enables intelligent power conversion"
  • Raf Roovers (NXP): "Ultra Wide-Band: from research to W-USB product"
  • EASICS and Icsense: "Recent RFID Development: A Case Study"

14 March 2007 - Leuven (SSC SB Leuven)
Symposium Evolutions in Micro Electronics: Smart Power

24 March 2006 - Heverlee (SSC)
Design of Ultra-low-power systems
Anantha Chandrakasan (Distinguished Lecturer SSC): Design of Ultra-Low-Power Systems
