June 2004 (Benelux Section): IEEE urges the Benelux decision makers to stop de-localisation of development activities
The IEEE Benelux Section committee published an 'open letter' (Dutch and French versions) in several newspapers in The Netherlands and Belgium to request the decision makers in those countries to take action to stop the export of engineering activities to low-cost countries. The letter was also sent to Guy Verhofstadt, Prime Minister of Belgium, and Jan Peter Balkenende, Minister President of The Netherlands.
The letter got attention on the Radio1 in the Flanders and several new papers in the Netherlands, Flanders and Wallonie.
