Chapter Support

Allocation of financial support to Chapter Activities

Allocation of financial support to Chapter Activities by the Benelux Section as agreed at the Section Meetings on 21 November 2007 and revised on 21 May 2008.

Chapters are entitled to receive an annual rebate of EUR 250 in addition to the annual rebate from Headquarters of EUR 150. Furthermore, depending on the number of meetings, a Chapter will receive a meeting rebate according to the following table:

Number of meetings123456 and more
Rebate in EUR150250350450550600

In 2009, the chapters will receive only 50% of their meeting rebates (listed in the table above). The reason being the exceptional expenses made in 2009, namely the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the section and the milestone event in March. This is in accordance with the decisions made at the ExCom meeting of May 13, 2009.

Student Chapters are entitled to receive 50% of the Section, Headquarters and meeting rebates mentioned above.

Additionally, a Chapter can request a subsidy for the organization of an activity, along the following rules:

  • Upon providing evidence of acceptable activity budget (income, expenses), the chapter can apply for subsidy of a (technical) activity.
  • Up to EUR 30 per IEEE Benelux member can be received. The subsidy cannot exceed 50% of the cost per participant.
50% of the subsidy is paid upfront, the remainder after providing the final (IEEE Benelux) participant list.
  • For subsidies higher than EUR 30, the participants have to pay a participation fee of minimum 50% of the subsidy per participant.
50% of the subsidy is paid upfront, the remainder after providing the final (IEEE Benelux) participant list.
The treasurers can limit the subsidy amount.
  • The subsidy is provided only to IEEE Benelux members.
  • Chapter requests for subsidy will not exceed EUR 1000 per year (based on activity date).
  • The activity needs to have a (part) technical agenda.
  • The subsidies are complementary to the yearly rebates or Section participation in events.
  • This subsidy is also applicable to Student Chapters, but in that case all amounts are reduced to 50%.
